Synopsis: Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

As Jude becomes more deeply embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, she discovers her own capacity for trickery and bloodshed. But as betrayal threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

Thoughts so far: I’ve heard so much about this book! It’s all over the bookstagram community. With the sequel, The Wicked King, coming out next month, I finally decided to jump in and read this one!

I’ve been a fan of Holly Black for a long while. Tithe was one of the first YA fantasy novels I remember reading, back when I was in 6th or 7th grade. Her writing definitely sparked my love for other dark faerie novels, such as the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr.

I’m about a quarter of the way through the book at the time of writing, and I’m honestly so in love with it! It’s been a while since I’ve found a faerie novel that’s really appealed to me as much as Tithe or Wicked Lovely. Of course, I’ll need to finish the book first before I can give my thoughts in a full review, but the review is probably going to be pretty positive! Can’t wait to finish it!
